Every piece of stone carries a pattern formed over millions of years. This candle holder begins there — with waste offcuts from natural stone processing, each one selected for the character its surface already has. The result is an object that asks nothing of the room except to be noticed. No two are the same. Place on a dining table, a windowsill, a bathroom shelf — wherever a fragment of the natural world is welcome.Note: use a drip mat on combustible surfaces.
Objects in the Derivatives Series are fabricated from reclaimed materials. Subtle surface variations are part of the material’s history and contribute to the individuality of each piece. The following terms describe the visible material character.
Great
Minimal visible surface variation. The material appears clean and refined, either preserving only faint traces of its previous life or presenting a newly applied finish.
Good
Minor surface marks or tonal variations may be visible, reflecting the reclaimed origin of the material.
Fair
Visible surface character including scratches, texture variation, patina, or signs of time from the material’s previous use.
