The Erco spotlight was designed to illuminate other things — artworks, displays, architecture. Here it becomes the thing being illuminated. The lamp turns its original function back on itself: the industrial spotlight, now removed from its institutional context, stands as the subject. Its components are varied and reclaimed, but the overall impression is restrained and precise. Suits industrial lofts, modern studios and gallery-style living spaces.
Objects in the Derivatives Series are fabricated from reclaimed materials. Subtle surface variations are part of the material’s history and contribute to the individuality of each piece. The following terms describe the visible material character.
Great
Minimal visible surface variation. The material appears clean and refined, either preserving only faint traces of its previous life or presenting a newly applied finish.
Good
Minor surface marks or tonal variations may be visible, reflecting the reclaimed origin of the material.
Fair
Visible surface character including scratches, texture variation, patina, or signs of time from the material’s previous use.
